Owner Profile Devoria Berry is a native of North Carolina. She graduated from John C. Smith University with a BA in Urban Affairs, but her career choice was the field of mental health. In 2005, while continuing to work full time, she earned a Bachelor’s of Social Work from UNC-Pembroke. In 2006 she received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fayetteville State University, graduating with honors. In 2007, Devoria started her business, Community Support Agency. This was the right career move for someone who has spent a large portion of her life helping people. Community Support Agency serves five counties: New Hanover, Bladen, Columbus, Brunswick, and Pender. The mission of her agency is to provide community based mental health services to those recipients in need. Her Agency was strategically placed in a location which could cover an area that was greatly under served and underfunded. She considers this Agency to be “The heartbeat of the community.” When Devoria is not engaged with the demands of her business, she is busy working with the non-profit organization that she formed, Men and Women United for Youth and Families. This organization provides after school services such as tutoring and mentoring for children from K-8th grades, a summer program, and other cultural and recreational activities. She is the wife of Donald Berry and mother of Mario, Maya, and Tamra. In 2008, Devoria received the YWCA Cape Fear women of Achievement Award in Business.
Our Mission:The "Heartbeat" of Community Support Agency is to provide quality behavioral health services, that pumps energy throughout the body, that we believe will enhance the quality of life for individuals that we serve.
